“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” Philippians 1:6 NLT
I really enjoy crafts and art projects. Sometimes, I’ll get the idea for a scrapbooking project or painting ceramics and wood objects. I’ll make my way to the crafts store, purchase all the necessary supplies, ensure I have the decals, the right color scheme, enough glue sticks for my glue gun, etc. Then I will come home and set the materials aside for later use, and later never seems to come. Whether life gets in the way, competing priorities, or a shift in my interest for the moment, those materials at times can just sit, and sit, and sit…
Thankfully, God is less fickle than me. He too has many ideas for each of us. He’s thought carefully about the people, experiences, places, and times He’ll pull together and orchestrate in order to craft us more into His son’s image, drawing us closer to Him and ensuring we become all that He predestined for us to be. It may seem like He’s put us down for a moment, and we may feel like He’s forgotten about us but our feelings aren’t His truth. (Amen for that!!!)
Because God is sovereign, He knows exactly what we need and when need it. He sees all things from beginning to end, and He is careful to ensure that every puzzle piece of our life fits just right revealing His masterpiece and greater plan. “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” (Ephesians 2:10 NLT)
I’ve heard it said before that we’re either coming out of a storm, headed into a storm, or in the midst of a storm during this life journey. Wherever you may find yourself today, know that God has not forgotten about you and He’s still working in you, through you, and for you to complete His master plan for you, His precious masterpiece.
Reflection
In what ways do I feel like God has forgotten about me? How can I apply the truth of His Word to my situation(s)? What do I need to remind myself about God’s nature? How can I surrender my all to Him knowing He’ll lead me in the best way?
Prayer
Lord, thank You for loving me and being so committed to me that You never stop working in me or my life. Forgive me of the times I doubted if you were there and really cared. Help me to see the light of Your truth in every situation. Thank You for never giving up on me. Please keep me malleable and pliable so I can become all that You want me to be. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
